This route is overlooked by impressive cliffs where vultures nest.
As you progress along the Tarn, you will walk through the hamlets of La Sablière and Plaisance with their typical architecture. Look up towards the Causse de Sauveterre plateau to admire the semi-troglodytic hamlets of St-Marcellin and Eglazynes. 
Explore the river Tarn by foot or in a canoe (which may be technically challenging depending on the season. A hike for water lovers! 

Description

Cross the bridge, take on your right the Causse Méjean road (D 16) for 800 m, then turn right onto the path that gradually goes downhill towards the river Tarn (GR® 6, GR®736, waymarked white and red)
1 – Leave the path for a path on the left that goes uphill above the riverbanks. 
2 At the hamlet of La Sablière, the path goes around the private property above it. Ignore paths that head to the left towards the Causse and the Rocher du Cinglegros.
3 – At Plaisance hamlet, continue on the wider path for 4 km to reach Le Rozier.

/!\ Be aware of periodic flooding in the Tarn gorge in spring and autumn! Make sure your equipment is appropriate for the day’s weather conditions. Remember that the weather changes quickly in the mountains. Take enough water, wear sturdy shoes and put on a hat. Please close all gates and barriers behind you.
