Full throttle at all heights! Rochefort Rock offers two via-ferrata routes overlooking the valley of Florac (one easy, the other difficult).

From Florac, take the D 16 towards the Causse Méjean until you reach the Col de la Pierre Plate pass. Park in the large car park on the right, 150 m after the pass.

NB: Access to the site is on foot and no longer via Le Pradal.

From Le Pradal car park, go downhill on the road (D 16) and, at the first hairpin bend, take the waymarked GRP® path (yellow and red marks) that runs below the edge of the Causse plateau. For the first 400 m, the path is steep and stepped. It then continues across the slope below the plateau edge to the via ferrata du Rochefort. Walk towards the rocks; the two via ferrata circuits (signs) start in a narrow passage known as the “canyon”.

Return on the same path.

Practical informations

Children under 6 are not allowed on either route. Children under 12 must be accompanied and roped-up. Anyone weighing under 40 kg must proceed roped-up between two adults. Any beginners in rock-climbing who do not know how to use a harness or lanyards must imperatively be supervised during their first steps on a via ferrata. You are strongly advised to hire a professional guide. Choose a route that is suited to your physical capabilities and technical knowledge. Equipment can be rented in Florac.
