Mouflon Observatory

Type of visit : Natural site
Embed this item to access it offline

Whether early in the morning or towards the end of the day, this observatory is an exceptional vantage-point for observing the mouflons that come to drink at the river.

The mouflon was introduced into France's mountainous regions for hunting in the 1950s and 60s. The Cévennes National Park's mouflon population is easy to observe and is mainly concentrated on the Aigoual mountain range. On-site, there are information panels about the species. To get the most out of your observation, we highly recommend that you bring binoculars.
